The most undisturbed protected area of Nepal, Bardia National park was established in 1976 with an area of 968 sq km. Later, 507 sq km was declared as a buffer zone. Covered with grassland, savannah, and riverine forest adjoining the eastern bank of the Karnali river. The Babai River cuts through it.

The park is home to 642 species of animals and more than 435 species of resident and migratory birds. This intact wilderness is famous for tiger tracking. More than 80 royal Bengal tigers have marked their territory in Bardia national park. This adjoining Banke national parks, for this reason, the possibility of Tiger Encounter is highest here.

This wetland covers 175 sq km and comprises mudflats; reed beds and freshwater marshes in the floodplains of the Sapta Koshi River. This Ramsar site-designated wildlife reserve has been home to numerous rare species, including Bengal floricans, storks, and lesser floricans.

Arrival in Kathmandu and Transfer to Hotel

The tranquil beauty of Nepal and the warm hospitality of Nepalese awaits you!  As soon as you land at the Tribhuwan International Airport, you will be welcomed by our company representative and assist with the transportation up to the hotel. 

After check-in at the hotel, get yourself refreshed. If you arrive early, you may stroll around the tourist hotspot of Kathmandu, Thamel. In the evening, you will be briefed about the tour and the necessary checklist to be packed.

Morning flight to Bharatpur and drive to Chitwan National Park

Your photography opportunity starts as soon as you reach Chitwan. Freshen up and you can walk around the nearby ethnic Tharu village and observe their lifestyles. And in the evening enjoy capturing the golden hour while the sun sets over Rapti River.

You will participate in the Tharu cultural dance program after sundown.

Wildlife Photography and Jungle activities

Canoe Ride along the Rapti River is an excellent opportunity for bird watching and to see the rare species of crocodiles; the marsh mugger as well as the fist-eating gharial.

Jungle walking under the guidance of an experienced nature guide offers a great chance of spotting wildlife. On the way back you can enjoy watching the elephants take their regular bath in the river.

Visit elephant home, A chain free corral for rescued retired elephants 

4-5 hours Jeep safari inside the national park to encounter various wild animals.  Visit the crocodile breeding center on the way back to the hotel.

Fly back to Kathmandu

After this wonderful trip, you will drive back to Bharatpur and fly to Kathmandu. 

Once you reach Kathmandu you will check in at a nice hotel around the Thamel area. In the evening you can stroll around for souvenir shopping, drinks, and dinner. Walking around Thamel and nearby areas for shopping and self-exploring the narrow streets of this tourist hub is a good idea to spend your evening in Kathmandu.

Final Departure

Today, you will leave Nepal with adventure-filled memories. A company representative will assist you to get back to your country during your departure. We will drop off you at the airport according to your flight schedule. It is recommended that you arrive at the airport at least two hours before takeoff to ensure a timely check-in process.

Description of the Location

The first national park of Nepal, Chitwan National Park covers an area of 952.63 sq km and covers the districts of Nawalpur, Parsa, Chitwan, and Makwanpur. Its altitude ranges from 100m to 815m. Narayani-Rapti River is a natural boundary in the north and west of the park whereas Parsa Wildlife reserve lies in the east part of the park and India’s Valmiki National Park is in the South.

To reach Chitwan National Park, you can go either by Vehicle for 5 to 6 hours to the South of Kathmandu or by air to Bharatpur Airport for 25 minutes followed by half an hour drive to the national park.

 

What to Bring

  1. Neutral colored clothing is recommended. 
  2. Light clothing is needed for the daytime with a sweater and warm jacket for the evenings from November to March. 
  3. Pants / Trousers are recommended for safari and jungle walk.
  4. Comfortable walking shoes, sun hats, sunglasses, etc. are essential.
  5. Insect repellent and personal medical requirements should be carried. 
  6. It is highly recommended to travel light with only one small suitcase or duffle bag.
  7. During the warmer months, swimming suits are recommended.
  8. A small flashlight is recommended.
  9. Binoculars add greatly to your enjoyment of bird and wildlife viewing.
