Jeep Safari Suspended in Chitwan National Park !

Chitwan National Park (CNP) has halted jeep safari inside the park from June 30 until the end of October due to the arrival of the monsoon season and the wildlife and bird breeding period. This annual closure is essential for protecting the park’s fragile ecosystem during this sensitive time.

Monsoon conditions bring flooding rivers, fallen trees, and muddy, slippery roads. Ultimately making jungle drives unsafe and wildlife sightings more difficult due to dense grass and shrubs.

CNP typically resumes safari activities around mid-September, when Nepal’s festive season starts and the monsoon comes to an end. However, the reopening may be delayed if heavy rains continue into the autumn months.

Note: While safaris inside the core area of the national park are closed, jeep safaris in the community-managed forests of the park’s buffer zone will continue as usual.
