Chitwan Wildlife Safari: Nepal is not just rich in Mountains and Cultural Places but also in wildlife. Among the many established protected areas, Chitwan National Park is a major destination for people who want to see different species of flora and fauna and enjoy wildlife. Established in 1973 and granted the status of a World Heritage Site in 1984. Chitwan National Park is also one of the top destinations for tourism as a whole. Chitwan National Park is also considered one of Asia's best national parks for viewing wildlife. The park is home to more than 50 mammal species, including the Royal Bengal Tiger, Greater One-horned Rhinoceros, wild boar, deer, rhesus monkey, pythons, alligators, Gharial crocodiles, 55 amphibians and reptiles, and about 525 species of birds. Moreover, the park has a Ramsar site, Beeshazari Lake, famous for bird watching.

This 3-night 4 days Chitwan Wildlife Safari tour includes different activities inside the national park and community forest. You can enjoy a canoe ride on the Rapti River followed by a walking safari inside the jungle. Likewise, you can enjoy the wilderness drive inside the Jungle, watch birds, and indulge in Ethical Elephant activities. Encounter everything that you’ve read and watched on the internet, the tranquil beauty of Nepal, and the warm hospitality of the Nepalese. Flying through the beautiful mountain views and thickly wooded hills and plains, you will land in the capital of the country. At the airport, you will meet one of our team members who will escort you to the hotel in Thamel.

Once checked in, you can walk around Thamel, Kathmandu’s tourist hub. Here you can also find restaurants with a variety of cuisine to dine.

On your first day at Chitwan, you can walk or cycle around the nearby ethnic Tharu village and observe their lifestyles. Be informed about the National Park, its history, and wildlife through the park’s visitor center.

Also visit the elephant home, a facility for retired elephants, which is just 5km from the center of Sauraha. Learn about the elephants and the complex needs of elephants in captivity and the crisis facing elephants in the wild. In this session, you will learn all there is to know about elephants, generally and specifically in Nepal. Meet the rescued elephants and learn about the challenges elephants face in captivity. This elephant refuge is managed by an NGO, which is working in Chitwan to improve the lives of the captive elephants and their mahouts (caretakers).

Later in the evening, enjoy the stunning sunset over the Rapti River, sipping the beverage of your preference. After sunset, you will participate in the Tharu cultural dance program.

Early morning Bird watching in the nearby BisHazari Tal is another great way to immerse yourself closer to nature and its colorful creations. In the afternoon, enjoy a Canoe ride along the Rapti River, which is an excellent opportunity for bird watching and to see the rare species of crocodiles: the Marsh mugger, as well as the fish-eating Gharial Crocodiles. Get off the canoe and start yet another adventure inside the wilderness. A jungle walk under the guidance of an experienced nature guide offers a great chance of spotting wildlife.

Optional: Depending upon your willingness, you can spend an adventurous tower night or in a local homestay. The tower night can be an excellent opportunity to experience the wildlife of Chitwan National Park. Whereas in a homestay, you will be eating locally made food and staying over at a local Tharu village as their guest.

Jeep Safari inside the national park is a great way to get familiar with the wildlife. Also, visit the Crocodile Hatching Farm managed by the government for the Conservation of endangered Gharials or Mugars located at Kasara. In this facility, the eggs are hatched, brought up, and released into rivers.

On the way back, visit Direct Aid Nepal where you can meet the herd of elephants and watch them live in their chain-free corrals. You can also indulge in ethical elephant activities like Bush Walk with Elephants or Elephant wellness programs, or watch them take a bath.

Spend the rest of the day cycling or strolling around Sauraha or just sitting by the riverside.

Drive to Bharatpur Airport and fly back to Kathmandu.

Later in the evening, we will take you out for a farewell dinner and listen to your wildlife tour experiences.

    What to Bring

    1. Neutral colored clothing is recommended.
    2. Light clothing is needed for the daytime, with a sweater and warm jacket for the evenings from November to March.
    3. Pants / Trousers are recommended for safari and jungle walks.
    4. Comfortable walking shoes, sun hats, sunglasses, etc. are essential.
    5. Insect repellent and personal medical requirements should be carried.
    6. It is highly recommended to travel light with only one small suitcase or duffle bag.
    7. During the warmer months, swimming suits are recommended.
    8. A small flashlight is recommended.
    9. Binoculars add greatly to your enjoyment for bird and wildlife viewing.

    Important notes

    •  Evening Entertainment of Tharu Cultural dance and a PowerPoint Presentation about CNP and flora and fauna by an expert Naturalist will be offered from the house for those staying on the Jungle Plan.
    • During monsoons (mid-June / July to October end), jeep safaris are not conducted by park authorities. Alternate activities are provided during this period.

    Wonderful and unforgettable trip!

    Snow Leopard Expedition in Nepal

    I have to congratulate Ghanshyam on the great organization, from email communications, logistics and all the attention during the tour. Everything was organized in an excellent way and what I really appreciated was the availability and flexibility.     Aashish, our guide, did everything to satisfy every request, always available and kind throughout the trip and very competent even during trekking in search of the Leopard. What about Tashi R. Ghale, a special person, tireless, did everything so that we could realize the dream of sighting the Leopard. It was an honor to meet him and be able to be with him, for me it was one of the best experiences of life. I would have hoped to see the Leopard more closely, but I realize how difficult it is and still being able to hear it during the calls of the mating season was exciting.

    Bardia and Chitwan Photography Trip

    I have traveled to many places in pursuit of photographing endangered species, and surprisingly, I did not have any images of the Bengal tiger. Many of my friends visited India for tiger safaris, but the crowded and hectic national parks discouraged me. After watching a BBC Planet Earth documentary, I discovered that Bengal tigers also exist in Nepal. Following many email exchanges with different tour operators in Nepal, I chose Tiger Encounter — and I am very happy that I made the right decision.

    Ghanshyam was extremely flexible with my itinerary. I had to change my plans at least twice, and he accommodated every adjustment without hesitation or even a hint of frustration. He personally came to the airport to receive me and introduced me to my guide, Manju, who accompanied me throughout the entire trip. During the journey, Ghanshyam stayed in constant communication with the guide to ensure I was always well taken care of.

    When I book a trip, I highly value creativity, resourcefulness, and flexibility.
