Camping, rafting, and Fishing at Babai in the Bardia National Park is an amazing combination of discovery and pleasure.
In addition to a wildlife safari in the Bardia National Park of Nepal, there are other extraordinary activities that you can enjoy. Camping, rafting, and fishing on the Babai River are other adventures. Camping in the jungle near the riverbank. Listening to the sounds of nature is a thrilling experience you will never forget. The Karnali and Babai Rivers are the ideal camping locations in Bardia. You can unwind watching the sunset, having excellent meals prepared by a professional chef, and sleeping peacefully in a comfortable tent.
Situated in the heart of Bardia National Park, the Babai River is abundant with various fish. It is one of the best fishing spots in Nepal. Flowing through Bardiya National Park, the Babai River is home to over 50 fish species. Including Golden Masheer, Goonch, Catfish, Bullseye Snakehead, and Indian Trout Barb.
We will engage in catch-and-release fishing to protect fish populations because fish species are in danger of extinction. Catch and release is a recreational fishing practice in which the fish is captured, measured, and weighed quickly. Followed by posed photos as documentation of the catch, and then released live into the water. This fishing requires gear like a circle hook and a barbless hook that decreases stress for the fish.
During the trip, we will camp by the Babai River and participate in rafting and fishing. We will stay for several nights in natural settings. We wake up to the melodious chirping of birds, the constant gentle sound of the river, a fresh wind from the river, and pristine greenery.
While riding the raft boat in the Babai River, you are likely to spot rhinoceroses and elephants. Even tigers coming out of the jungle to drink by the riverside. You will also glimpse gharial and mugger crocodiles sunbathing on the riverbank.
The Babai River is home to 45 % of the tigers of Bardia. It is also the corridor of elephants and the natural breeding place of crocodiles. The flying birds above the river will accompany our rafting journey as well.
October to November and March to May are the best times for fishing adventures in the Babai River.
